Informative profile of Lima

Lima is the capital of Peru, located by the Ocean Pacific shore in Peruvian coast’s central part, between the valleys of the Rimac and the Lurin rivers, its elevation is about 500 meters above sea level and populated with more than 8 million and half people.

Lima is a city which mix modernity, history and tradition, was named as a “CIUDAD DE LOS REYES” translated to English means “CITY OF THE KINGS” in 1535 by The Spaniards conquistadors, undoubtedly was the most important city in South America during the Spanish possession, that is why Lima proudly hosts countless pure baroque style’s architectural monuments, which makes this city worthy of the title of THE WORLD HERITAGE SITE, awarded by UNESCO, between  its most outstanding architectural monuments are considered, the imposing “Palacio de Gobierno” which translated to English means “The Government Palace” considered as one of the 5 most beautiful government houses in the world , as well the traditional Cathedral of Lima second biggest in Latin America.

Another’s great attractive that Lima hosts are the modern and stylized Miraflores neighbor, where are located the best hotels and restaurants in Peru, also the famous “Parque de las Aguas” which translated in English means “The water Park” which got the Guinness record as the largest water’s  fountain complex in the world. Another touristic attraction is found out of the city, this is the Citadel of Caral, which is considered the most antique city of America, registering more than 5000 years of old.
