Sandoval Lake 3D/2N

Day 1: PUERTO MALDONADO/TAMBOPATA - CANDAMO RESERVE ZONE - SANDOVAL LAKE

Pick up from the airport at Puerto Maldonado / or from the bus station transfer to the office where you can leave some luggage that you are not   going to take to the tour. We take our bus to the port (port capitania) from    this place we are going to travel by boat, for one hour approximately, down the de Madre de Dios River.

At the port of Lake Sandoval we start walking to Sandoval Lake Lodge, with is located beside the most beautiful lake inside of the National Reserve (TAMBOPATA CANDAMO), in the way we stop on the Guard Park Office to make the entrance admission. The walk to rich the lake is about an hour, arriving at the lodge where we accommodate in our comfortable rooms with nice view of the Lake.

The Lodge has private baths and surrounded by pristine rain forest, extend trails system where the guarantee to see more wildlife has hight expectation. After settling we visit the Sandoval lake taking a canoe, paddling along the lake, where we can see the family of Giant River Otter, Black Caiman, Hoatzin, Herons, Cormorants, kingfishers, etc.. Return to the lodge for dinner, after dinner we visit the lake again in the canoe with our flashlights to see the Caimans eyes, they are active hunting at night, where we will show and explain about the nocturnal wildlife and then return to our comfortable Lodge for the night. Day 2: PALM MACAW LICKS / WALKS.

We get up early to go see the palm macaw licks; this is a special and unique behavior inside of the reserve where different species of parrots and macaws gather to eat dry palms that are rich in minerals such as calcium, sodium, potassium, etc. Which are important minerals for the digestion of the birds and also to get same mineral supplies that cannot fine in the fruit that they usually eat. Then return to the lodge for breakfast.

After breakfast we will hike to appreciate the wonderful flora and along the way you can see some animals like monkeys, deer, wild peccary, tapir, sloth, etc. Then return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch we can swim in the lake Sandoval safely, then visit the lake in a canoe to paddle where we paddle to the other side of the lake where we have a view of the lake and we can see the sunset. Then return to the lodge for dinner. After dinner we will have stories and legends of the jungle, and then go to our rooms for the night. (B)(L)(D)

Day 3: LAKE SANDOVAL / PUERTO MALDONADO / AIRPORT.

Early morning after breakfast we will walk in the same way back to Puerto Maldonado and then to the airport. (B)
